Ellie has said that on her next album, which I can’t wait for, there will be more of her voice, and the sound will be more folk-inspired, rather than having a lot of electro beats. What do you think? Will you still love Ellie? Read the article below.
The 23-year-old popstrel, who embraced dance beats on debut album Lights, told me: “I am thinking of doing an album of folk songs next.
“My favourite band are Stornoway and they’ve really inspired me.

“I’ve written a couple tracks and it’s sounding really cool and different. My voice has changed and I wanted the new material to have a lot more of my voice by itself.
“I’d like people to hear more of it because that’s my instrument.”
The singer, whose new tune The Writer is out next week, also revealed: “One of the new songs is really dark. It’s about people who are obsessed with each other and wake up one morning and neither can move.
“I dream about dying all the time. I’ve talked to people who know about that stuff and it’s maybe about anxiety.”
Yikes.

Ellie, born in Hereford, is probably best known for her number four hit 'Starry Eyed' and her cover of Elton John's 'Your Song'. She topped the BBC Sound of 2010 poll, and won the 2010 Critics' Choice Brit Award. After that her year just got better, with her debut album going straight in at number one. Ellie performed at most of the festivals in the summer of 2010, including Glastonbury! Her final single of 2010, 'Your Song', peaked at number two in the UK Top 40 and 2011 was another great year for Ellie, who released her debut album in America in March and performed at Coachella festival. Ellie was also chosen to play for the royal couple (William and Kate) at their after party to their wedding in April, and even appeared on Saturday Night Live with Tina Fey. She was later chosen to represent drinks brand, SoBe, in the UK. Ellie is set to release new music in 2012, and Ellie-G.com cannot wait!
